3 weeks agoThis was a wonderful restaurant near Lake of the Ponds North Shore. Small town atmosphere with big town quality. The staff was very helpful offering great service. The total atmosphere was very relaxing and the food was wonderful. The highlight of the meal was a strawberry cake made fresh in house.

a month agoI love fried East Texas catfish. Corbett’s hits the mark for fantastic catfish and more.The service was friendly and fast. The dining room is cool too with an old building vibe that sets the atmosphere for good eating. Highly recommend this restaurant for your meal.

2 months agoIt was the perfect place for a late lunch on a beautiful spring day, it's definitely worth the drive to Avinger,TX for their delicious catfish and fixings and the German Chocolate cake is so good! Price was very reasonable and atmosphere was relaxing. Thank you!

3 months agoI genuinely liked the entire experience! The only thing was the noise level. The dining area is pretty small so it gets loud fast. But the food and even the prices make up for it. Our server was the sweetest too! I would definitely recommend it to anyone! I'm from Texarkana and it is totally worth the drive!

3 months agoWe arrived right at opening time which was 4:00pm. We got there just in time as it filled up quick!! We were seated promptly and our waitress was wonderful. You get a lot of food for your money. We got hush puppies, sliced onion, tomato relish, Cole slaw and beans. Our favorite were the hush puppies. By the time our catfish plates arrived I was already stuffed! But the fish was delicious!! And the French fries were sooo good. We ordered a piece of strawberry cake to go!! It was huge!!! It was well worth the drive to Avinger, TX!

5 months agoMy husband ordered carryout. He had heard about it the restaurant on Facebook. The the whole catfish came with homemade fries, beans, hushpuppies, and coleslaw. We also got lots of condiments. Everything was good!

3 years agoFor a small town restaurant this was great. We were staying at the really nice RV park next door and went on recommendation of friends. It was prom night in town so we called ahead for a reservation. Our waitress was very friendly and suggested my husband NOT get the AYCE catfish since the meals come with so many sides. He decided on the catfish and shrimp and was very pleased with his choice. The beans and tomato relish were both delicious as well. I chose the blackened catfish and it was also very good. The restaurant is BYOB and they did not charge a corkage fee. If you find yourself in Avinger, Corbett’s is certainly worth a visit!

7 years agoSo I’ve passed this place several times on my way to Baton Rouge and back home to Kansas. Every time I pass it it was always packed so I kept on driving cause I don’t like to wait at restaurants if I don’t have to, I mean who does right? I figured that this place had to be good since it was always packed. This trip my wife flew to Baton Rouge and ride back with me to Kansas so I wanted to stop at Corbett’s with her no matter the wait. We arrived around 4:05 pm and there was no cars in the lot so initially I thought they were closed, we walked up to the door and the sign said they opened at 4:00 pm so we were the first customers. We were served with a smile, seated right away obviously lol. The waitress brought our drinks and two side of beans, hush puppy fries, pickled green tomatoes and coke slaw. I am not a fan of tomatoes but my goodness I LOVED those pickled tomatoes...amazing. I ordered the all you can catfish and my wife ordered the blackened catfish. Both were really good. They originally brought me 6 piece of fish I believe which I was thinking oh yes I will definitely need more. I ate my food which was good and I couldn’t get another round like I had planned. Everything was good. From the service to the food to the scenery and location. I will be timing my trips back from Baton Rouge to try and be at this place at their opening time.
